“All of my caregivers were outstanding! The place was clean. They had so many employees at the surgery center they were in my room always But I had a significant problem with pain management. I was in excruciating pain for the first five days, and the most part felt little to no relief. Today is a week since my surgery, and the pain I am having isn’t pleasant but is expected. I have to have the other one done soon and have been seriously contemplating what to do.”

“I consider Dr. Bohan to be about as classy a human as you will find. His practice reflex’s attitude for giving unsurpassed quality Orthopedic care. He has been my Orthopedic since I first needed his services many years ago for knee pain. At that time, I was in my early 40’s and starting to suffer joint pain from years of construction and landscaping. Dr. Bohan diagnosed my condition to be a degenerative response to hard, exhausting work. He helped me to continue my love of sports and the demands of my work by informing me of my most likely outcome and giving me years without surgery. That was plenty of time for me to conclude that like he said: “It’s only going to get worse!” It did! The pain became the great motivator to propel me into my decision to have surgery on my right hip.
After three days of pain medication, my wife, who is an OT at the hospital, suggested that I get off the meds and start moving. I gave in to her demands and almost immediately started getting better. I truly believe the quality of the surgical team, along with the excellent post-operative care gave me my life back again. Six weeks after surgery, my wife and I traveled to Greece for a fantastic long overdue vacation. I was on a sailboat for four days, then off to the mountains for a week of hiking and walking miles every day. I was in no pain! I didn’t do things I thought might be dangerous to my new condition. I have now had my second surgery to replace my left knee, and am again so impressed with the lack of pain even without prescription medications. I’m not running yet, but I’m not far from getting back on my 10-mile morning bike rides with my cousin. My PT put me on a stationary bike this morning, and I was able to pedal ten days after my surgery! I’m strolling, up and downstairs, and managing to care for my 94-year-old mother every day. By the way, she had knee replacement surgery when she was in her early 80’s. She went Parasailing the summer after her surgery! Same Doctor! A million thanks to you, Dr. Bohan. I’m enjoying life the way I imagined I should be.”

“Both my knees required total knee revision from my previous bilateral total knee replacement surgery performed in Kentucky in years ago. The cement had come loose from the tibial implant in both knees and surgery appeared necessary. We chose Dr. Bohan after researching all the orthopedic surgeons in the Grand Strand who perform revision surgeries. We found his reviews to be stellar compared to most others. The reports were true! The entire staff from start to finish were attentive and professional. My surgeries were a total success. No more pain and now I have a greater range of motion.”
