“In June, I woke up one morning and felt some pain in my left hip. I didn't think much about it as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and believed that it had moved into my hip. Well, as June and July came and went, I was experiencing a lot more pain and was struggling to walk normally. By August, my Rheumatologist had me do an MRI that only showed mild osteoarthritis. So I continued to deal with the pain until October (keep mind I have been to urgent care and the walk-in clinic several times) I had a Doctor visit with my primary care Dr., and he decided to do blood work and yet another MRI. At this point, I'm not able to walk at all without the aid of something. On October 10, I was rushed by ambulance to Mosaic as My primary Doctor discovered that I was septic and had a septic hip. I would have died that day at home had I not been taken to the hospital. That's where I got to know Dr. Peterson. He was the Doctor that I saw in the hospital. Dr. Peterson ended up doing three of my four surgeries. The first was to clean out my hip from infection. The second was the same, but Dr. Duncan did that one. My third, Dr. Peterson removed my Hip joint bone and put in a spacer, and my last surgery was my new permanent hip. Dr. Peterson was terrific, and I can't express enough how comfortable he made myself and my family with each surgery that I had to endure. This last year was horrible for me as I spent so much time recovering and trying to stay infection-free. Dr. Peterson was there every step of the way and because of him and my other Dr's I'm lucky to be alive, and that is something I could never thank him and the others enough! I'm 45 years old and not your typical hip replacement patient. I was never made to feel bad about my situation and always got the best care when it was needed. I have already been spreading the word on Dr. Peterson to anyone who will listen to me! I never dreamed that this past year would go the way it did and as horrible as it was, I take nothing for granted anymore and that includes my Dr's especially Dr. Peterson!”
