“From making the initial appointment to check out after the visit, my experience with Orthopedic Associates was a positive one. Dr. Hulsey gave me a couple of options for my trigger finger, and I opted for the injection. Even though the shot expectedly was harrowing, he was as quick to hurry the process. If I have any more hand issues, I will return to see Dr. Hulsey!”
– Alana L.
“Dr. Hulsey was very friendly and frank with regards to my condition. He took the time to answer most of my questions. When it is time to schedule surgery I would like to use him as my surgeon.”

“Very knowledgeable and informative.”

“I had a bilateral knee replacement by Dr. Richard Hulsey. I’ve had trouble with both knees since I was a child, and when I was pregnant with twins, gained weight, and grew older, the pain became unbearable and limited what I could do. It was common for me to fall at least three to four times a year with many more near-misses as I managed to catch myself before I hit the ground. Over the years, I’ve had a broken ankle, a sprained ankle, a hairline fracture, and a torn meniscus that resulted in surgery. By the time I saw Dr. Hulsey, I had exhausted other treatment, and I was getting to the point that I would avoid going out other than to work. Dr. Hulsey was recommended to me by another orthopedic surgeon whose father had a knee replacement by Dr. Hulsey and whose outcome was fantastic. I was confident that I had an experienced and proficient surgeon. His demeanor is friendly. He listens and answers questions in a way I can understand them. I never felt as if I had to talk fast. I am now able to do simple things that people take for granted walking up and down stairs without pain – and without the need to hold on to a rail or a person for support. I can take steps with my full weight on either leg. Although I was told not to squat, I can bend enough to get lower and put pressure on my knees to pick things up, which makes it easier on my back. My balance is better than ever, and I feel stable and secure when I walk without the constant worry about falling. I am so very thankful that I was able to have both replaced at the same time. Although challenging, it wasn’t as bad as I had heard. At the age of 62, I feel better than I have in decades, and I can enjoy life and my grandchildren more fully!”
– Sandra B.
“Dr. Hulsey is always very informative on what will take place before and after surgery. Which makes you trust him. I think it’s essential to believe the doctor is going into surgery.”
– Betty N.
“Surgery followup. Pleased with my recovery, I have full use with no adverse effects of my surgery. I will be getting the same operation to my other shoulder just after the first of the upcoming new year. I expect to completely recover within the same time frame as my current surgery. I was able to play golf, pain-free, less than 90 days after my shoulder surgery. Dr. Hulsey and his staff are superb.”
– Rick H.
“Dr. Hulsey is an excellent surgeon, but more importantly, a fine man.”
– Dana D.
“Appointment ran smoothly and friendly staff. Dr. Hulsey answered all my questions.”
– Victoria R.
“I work at Mo Bap in surgery, and Dr. Hulsey saw me in the hallway limping and sent me to his office where I was seen, given a boot and on my way. It was swift and uneventful. Staff was awesome!”
– Mary J.
“Dr. Hulsey did my total shoulder reverse replacement after a severe accident. He was not only an excellent doctor, but he was always very attentive and answered all my questions taking whatever time I needed to have my concerns addressed. His excellent care for what was a significant procedure helped me fully recover. I am now doing all the things I wanted to do and more. I have recommended Dr. Hulsey to numerous friends and family.”
– Jill S.
“Dr. Hulsey was extremely polite, pleasant, and very competent. He did a thorough exam of my knee that injured at work, examined the MRI results, and determined I could go back to work right away. I was extremely pleased that Dr. Hulsey did not want to drag it out and run me through more tests are keep me out of work longer. However, I believe that if he thought something was going on, he would have it checked out and the problem and it would have got addressed with all due diligence. I cannot recommend Dr. Hulsey highly enough. The entire staff was terrific. What a pleasant experience and a good day.”
– James P.
