The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Thomasson.
“Dr. Thomasson is a fantastic surgeon, he goes above and beyond to provide the care I needed and was beautiful following up with me after my knee replacements, he gave me back my quality of life and my health. He and his team are angels. Thank you, thank you! He will always be my surgeon.”

“Dr. Thomasson is working with my husband, who has a slight tear in his left rotator cuff. All these questionnaires are coming to me as my husband has Dementia and is unable to communicate. Dr. Thomasson recommended physical therapy over surgery, which I agreed. The treatment is helping some; however, my very stubborn (PTSD) husband is untrusting of anyone who may be trying to hurt him. I must say though that the staff at the TOC are lovely and work very well with him. Overall I am happy with the care he is getting!”
– Dona F.

“I like Dr. Thomasson and staff. I have been with him for several years. He always gives me the very best care and is still so personable. I wouldn’t trust another doctor looking at my hip, knee or leg. I also see Dr. Cosgrove, and I have to say he and his staff are also five stars. They give me the very best of care and try to pinpoint my pain to the best of their abilities. Thank you so much. These two doctors are top of the line, and I refer them to everyone I know.”
– Sheila G.
“I have always had a good experience with The Orthopaedic Center and certainly with Dr. Thomason. I still feel comfortable discussing anything with him, knowing that he will give me an honest response. My wife and I have had a total of three surgeries that he performed and in the future should I need anything that is Orthopedic, The Orthopaedic Center and Dr. Thomason will be my first choice.”

“Dr. Thomasson's surgical skills, technical knowledge, his prescribing physical therapy for an eight-year battle with severe and sometimes de-habilitating pain in my hip. Between physical therapy and follow-up visits with Dr. Thomasson, it was also determined I have two bulging disc's in my back, that may also be affecting the pain in my hip. The ability of the TOC staff and Dr. Thomasson's nurses to return my calls and communicate my concern's to Dr. Thomasson within hours of the same day was amazing. Dr. Thomasson and his Physician's Assistant took time to listen to my feelings about my hip pains as the physical therapy reduced in one area and increased in another city. Dr. Thomasson took the time to explain all possibilities for the pain changes and all the risks and benefits for a total hip replacement, including him requiring me to check with my cardiologist. There were some additional risks as I recently had a heart attack with a stent placement 6 weeks prior. I chose to wait 1 more week recovering from the stent surgery. They scheduled me for surgery, popped in a new full hip joint, checked on me in the hospital and prescribed me home health care for initial physical therapy and wound management. I have now progressed to office physical again. I have Zero pain in my hip for the pain I originally began seeing Dr. Thomasson for, which was a painful Jabbing sensation in the groin area of my bone which had started in Jun 2019. The pain was so much so, that it caused me to actually fall to the ground on three occasions. During this timeframe, the physical therapist noted the additional strain that started during the physical therapy before the surgery was probably back related in her experience. I discussed this with my primary care manager, she ordered an MRI, and then she referred me to a lower back/spine specialist. Once I saw the spine specialist, Dr. Blake Boyett, I learned of two bulging discs that he said may be affecting the remaining hip pain. So, I will probably returning to my favorite orthopedic doctors within the famous Huntsville, Madison, Athens TOC complexes. I so highly recommend Dr. Thomasson to my colleges and I hope he is still serving the Northern Alabama in another 5-10 years when I will need the other hip replaced. Surgery and recovery from Dr. Thomasson's procedures was a walk in the park form me. I retired after 32 active duty years in the US Army and as with most of us did, I deployed to Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia, and Iraq during 1996-2006 and retired here in the sweet home of Alabama as a result of my attending numerous logistical events here at Redstone Arsenal from 1993-2008. I have received better care her at TOC than I have at any similar treatment facility spanning 11 countries and 8 US states. I am glad you are all here and that you serve soo many locations locally.”
– James T.
“The wait time was very short in the waiting room as well as in the examination room. I appreciate the staff being kind and considerate. Dr. Thomasson was very good at explaining my issues and giving answers that I understood.”
– Ellen M.
“Dr. Thomasson is an excellent surgeon, he and his staff have taken care of me now for over a year and a half. He listened to my problems, ran many tests, tried many options to stop the extreme pains I was having in both of my hips (the left last year and the right this year). I chose the opportunity to have total hip replacements done. He understands the many problems I have-such as opposite reactions to so many meds, years of issues with my osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and osteopenia. I will recommend him to anyone with knee and hip issues.”
– Robert B.
